回應美國財政部將香港及中共十一名官員（以及一名非洲軍閥）放入美國制裁名單，港府喺官方網頁上發表咗一篇措辭極為強硬的英文聲明，字字鏗鏘，擲地有聲。
不過既然係為炎黃子孫中華兒女發聲，點解要用英文？唔用番由甲骨文起有五千年歷史嘅優秀中國文字呢？
Anyways，讀聲明學英文都不失為一個好方法。
The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government has today (August 8) vehemently criticised the so-called “sanctions” by the United States (US) Government against 11 officials of the Central People’s Government and the HKSAR Government as shameless and despicable.
“vehemently criticised” — vehemently — with strong emotion 即係外交部成日講嘅「嚴厲批評」。
“shameless and despicable” — 無恥與卑鄙，一個政府用「卑鄙無恥」嚟形容另一個政府，喺外交層面上都真係好少見。唔知幾時會教埋大家「下流賤格」嘅英文係點講呢？不過喺港府口中「卑鄙無恥」嘅政權喺香港 — 中華人民共和國自古至今不可分割的土地上，仲有間總領事館，高掛美國旗，打開門做住簽證生意；而全香港嘅銀行，都仲用緊「卑鄙無恥」政權印嘅貨幣做緊結算；而港幣仲同「卑鄙無恥」嘅美金掛勾緊。中國人素來有骨氣，「不食嗟來之食」，實在要對外宣揚香港人為國捐軀，寧死不屈嘅精神。
It should be obvious to and resented by many people, locally and around the world, that the US acts are displaying double standards and hypocrisy, let alone blatantly breaching international laws and basic norms governing international relations.
“Double standard and hypocrisy” — 雙重標準與虛偽
“blatantly breaching” — 公然地違反
講到「雙重標準」、「虛偽」、「公然違反國際法」，港府真係毋須過謙，美國政府有排都未排到第一，成句只要改一改 “US acts” 做某國，可以完美無瑕咁原句奉還。
The spokesman severely condemned the US Government for deliberately making public the personal information of Government officials.
除左 “vehemently criticised”，仲可以用 “severely condemned”「強烈譴責」，配合番外交部條 line。
“Such a deplorable move is no less than state-sanctioned doxxing that is a serious breach of privacy and personal safety. We reserve the right to take any necessary legal action,” the spokesman said.
“deplorable” — very bad 低劣、惡劣。
“doxxing” — 網上洩密
話美國公佈官員嘅身份證號碼、passport 號碼、地址等個人資料係低劣行為，嚴重違反個人私隱同安全，並保留追究法律行動的權利。嗯……一兩日前先有單新聞，《蘋果日報》記者個人資料被惡意洩露，根據當時人所講，懷疑背後涉及申請回鄉卡的中旅社。唔知呢句 “Such a deplorable move is no less than state-sanctioned doxxing that is a serious breach of privacy and personal safety.” 係咪同時適用呢？
We will fully support the Central Government to adopt counter-measures.
講咁多，因為外交唔係香港的自治範圍，其實港府可以做嘅嘢就係繼續做「啦啦隊」，全力支持中央政府的反制措施 “counter-measures”。
咁中央政府嘅取態又係點呢？港府舉番中共中央政治局委員、中共中央外交事務辦公室主任楊潔萀於八月七日嘅一篇文章：
In an article published yesterday (August 7), Mr Yang Jiechi, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Central Committee, urged the US side to bear in mind the fundamental interests of the Chinese and American people and the whole world, and strengthen engagement, dialogue and communication.

“strength engagment, dialogue and communication” — 強化合作、對話同溝通
喂，鬧完人「卑鄙無恥」，強烈讉責、嚴厲批評，對住又雙重標準，又虛偽嘅政權，中央嘅「反制措施」就係要合作、對話同溝通？點解仲要顧及美國人根本利益？咩事？點解仲要同一個卑鄙無恥虛偽雙重標準嘅政權對話？溝通嘅基礎係邊？係真心定假意？如果真係要對話合作，港府鬧到人狗血淋頭嘅聲明係有所助力定係幫倒忙？目的為何？
